Part I of 2008 Christmas - With Sia Family by Julie

This year, I’ve chosen Lavender as the theme for my Christmas tree. Finally I managed to get the type of tree I like from Petaling Street.  I spent nearly RM360 for this 7 feet tree and the ornaments. It was an impulse buying this time for the ornaments. Darling set up the tree and I put up the ornaments. Still not satisfied with the tree as I think I need more ornaments on such a huge Christmas tree.  On top of that, we have a little rascal who keeps pulling down the ornaments and threw it on the floor like a ball.  The glittering sand dust then stick to his hand and face. *Slap head* If only I could hang the Christmas tree on to the ceiling??

Darling decorated the main door and this time I was thrilled with his beautiful work.

I’m kinda lazy to prepare food and clean up so we decided to eat out for our Christmas dinner this year with Darling’s family (my in-laws). Off we went to Auntie Juliet Cafe in Kota Kemuning the Saturday before Christmas.  After the dinner, all of us headed to my house for presents time. 4th sis and family usually join us to add to the fun.

Presenting to you……the Sia family.

All I Want for Christmas is… by Julie

All I want for Christmas is my……Ooopps! Not for me but for my not-so-old man and no-more-a-baby boy.

Thinking hard on what should I get them for Christmas. Both are not an easy task. Putting on my thinking cap in figuring out on what will make them happy and what they really need.  Of course Darling has hundreds and thousands of stuff (or gadget) he wish to have. This second he would say he wants this then another second he saw something else he says is a necessity. Old man Darling quite troublesome isn’t? :)

It’s so much easier when it comes to Jonathan boy. He don’t mind (or don’t bother) what is in that colourful wrapper. As long as Mommy likes it! But old lady Darling can be a nuisance too. Undecisive and want everything under the sky. Hehehe… I can’t make up my mind on Jonathan boy’s Christmas gift.

A car? Obviously it’s not the real adult car we are talking about here nor it’s the miniature toy car. We spotted a battery operated car in one of the toy shop here in Klang selling at a very cheap price. It can be controlled with a remote control too. Jonathan boy can sit in it and let the car bring him around with us maneuvering the steering wheel by using a remote control.

A train set? I can imagine him catching the train while it goes round the track and wouldn’t let it go. Or maybe a big moving toy train that can make chuckling choo choo sound. He has lots of cars and busses but not train.

A LEGO set? Since he has mastered stacking skill, the new level is building and making things up. But I think ended up Daddy will be the one who will get hooked to the LEGO set.

A pair of shoe? Since he has started walking, I can get him more shoes and of course to be prepared for Chinese New Year.

A drawing board/mat? We came across Rainbow Aquadraw drawing mat. It is a waterbased drawing mat. Simply fill the special markers with water and draw. When the mat dries out the pictures drawn will disappear and the fun can begin all over again.

What else do you think he likes? Or should I say what else do you think he will have longer interest with? Remember the Malay proverb, “Hangat-hangat tahi ayam”? I just don’t want the toys laying there collecting dust.

So any suggestions from the floor?

Can’t Wait Till Christmas by Julie

Crossing away each box on my table calendar. Looking forward to reach the box with number 19 in the month of December. Yup, that should be my last day of work before I go off on Christmas holiday (that is if my boss approve my leave. *finger crossed*).

I am so excited that it’s November now. And that gives me a good reason to shop and spend.

HE: Why are you buying this, Darling?
ME: Oh, for the kids’ Christmas present!
HE: *Nod his head indicate can buy*

So now you get what I meant by good reason to shop and spend? I have a collection of stuff which I bought over the time whenever I spotted a good bargain and nice stuff. So when it comes to someone’s birthday or Christmas, I don’t have to shop at the last minute. I rummaged through my collection yesterday and fulfilled almost 60% of my gift list. Leaving the remaining 40% as a reason to shop. Hehe…

My Christmas gift list is getting longer each year as we have new addition in the family each year. Gifts for my Darling, Jonathan boy, my parents, 5 sisters, 7 BIL, 8 nieces, 3 nephews, MIL, 2 SIL, 1 SIL-to-be. One family needs to buy for almost 20 person and so I have 6 of us (my sisters & me) in the family, that makes 20 x 6 = 120 gifts. The foot of the Christmas tree will always overflow with lots of presents and some hanging on the tree.

That was our 7 feet Christmas tree last year.

That reminds me that I need to shop for a Christmas tree this year as I gave away my Christmas tree to my sis. I’m looking for a much bushier tree. I know there are names to different kinds of trees. I’m also thinking of a fiber optic tree. Any recommendation?
