Wai Yeng - Hi! Nice to see you here. I can't really remember the price I bought the MSC but I think it's around RM100+. That is with discount coupon.

Great blog. Now i can curi your method to use for my gal. I have been cooking her cereals, then store in the fridge and then reheat when needed. Do you remember how much you bought the MSC for?

Thanks for sharing the porridge making method. I bought a cooker to cook porridge like yours. Inside also with stainless steel and ceramic pot (different style and with timer). But i just lazy to do double boiled. I put everything (rice, water, vege and meat)before i went to sleep.

Thanks for dropping by my blog.

Wai Yin - 8 years? The cooker as so durable. I have one of the older design too. It's the bigger size one.

Ann - Yes, you can. My mil use it to boil during my confinement.

Sook Mei - Freezing the rice? That is a good idea. Btw, thanks for visiting.

June - Try it since you are now on one month's leave. :)

Ryan's mummy - Jonathan's dinner time is usually 5pm and the porridge is still warm, just nice to feed without having to blow. But if you prefer hotter, you can always reheat.

KittyCat - Great to see you here.

Mumsgather - In fact, the MSC can be used to cook many other things. You'll sure find it useful.

This sounds like a fantastic way of making porridge. I used to use rice cooker, then keep one portion in the fridge for evening to reheat by steaming. Seems like so much more trouble compared to this!

Hmm... my MIL has this MSC too. Can suggest to her using it to cook Ryan's porridge.

So, for the dinner feeding, does the porridge still warm??

Hi,
I use a slowcooker to cook my daughter's porridge.

A suggestion if you are ever in a rush... wash the rice and place it in the freezer for a while say 20 min. then cook as normal. The freezing really breaks up the rice grains fast. I use this everyday.

I use this Magic Cooker too but mine is the older design. Have been using it for almost 8 years. Started using it for my daughter's porridge but now mostly to cook rice for the girls. Great also to make chicken or ikan bilis stock.
